WPPI Las Vegas

This Saturday, Valentine’s Day, we’ll be leaving Spokane for six days in Las Vegas, NV for the annual WPPI convention. Last year was our first year attending and it helped us immensely, so we’re back for another show this year! The tradeshow, which takes place during the last three days of the convention, is where we discovered many of the products we offer.

The convention itself is in the MGM Grand this year where we’ll be staying; last year it was in Paris and Bally’s. It was moved to the MGM Grand because it had outgrown the Paris/Bally’s combo, much as it had outgrown its previous location when it was moved there. There is something like 10,000-15,000 photographers that attend the show annually, so it’s anything but small.

In addition to the tradeshow, there are a number of days before it that are filled with workshops and platform speakers that photographers are free to choose from. This year we chose not to do any of the workshops and instead go to more of the platform speakers instead. The Spokane area usually sits on the more traditional side of weddings and portraits compared to other areas. So, weathering the smokey casinos, street peddlers, and roulette tables, we’re able to bring back products and ideas that haven’t been seen around here yet!

We’ll definitely be getting some more photos this year, but here are a few from last year for now.
